Cell-type-specific expression of circRNAs has been shown to play critical roles in both physiological processes and disease pathogenesis. To facilitate the exploration of circRNA expression across diverse cellular contexts, we curated cell-type-specific circRNAs from published studies, focusing on entries supported by experimental approaches that resolve circRNA expression at single-cell or purified-cell-type resolution, including scRNA-seq, FACS, MACS, primary cell isolation, and other cell-type-enrichment strategies. This collection covers both disease and non-disease states and records key information such as circRNA expression changes, associated cell types, and species of origin. In total, we identified 2,025 cell-type-specific circRNAs across 29 distinct cell types.

Circ2Celltype is a newly developed module designed to retrieve cell-type-specific circRNAs and explore their expression patterns across different cellular and biological contexts.
