circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
DN
Associated gene: THAP11 / THAP domain containing 11
Associated microRNA: miR-421
Biological function: CircNRD1 suppresses GC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, EMT and tumor xenograft growth.
Molecular mechanism: CircNRD1 acts as a ceRNA/molecular sponge for miR-421 to up-regulate THAP11 expression, thereby inhibiting gastric cancer progression.
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (inhibits); migration (inhibits); invasion (inhibits); metastasis (inhibits); EMT (inhibits); ceRNA regulation (other)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; MTT; EdU Staining; Wound Healing Assay; Transwell Assay; Western Blot; Luciferase Reporter Assay; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); RNA Pull-Down; IHC (Immunohistochemistry); In Vivo Animal Model; Survival Analysis; Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

Decreased circNRD1 level was closely associated with advanced tumor stage and dismal prognosis in GC patients; circNRD1 may be a novel prognostic biomarker for GC patients.

Description:

CircNRD1 is down-regulated in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines, and low circNRD1 expression is associated with advanced tumor stage and poor prognosis. Functionally, circNRD1 overexpression suppresses GC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, EMT and xenograft tumor growth. Mechanistically, circNRD1 acts as a miR-421 sponge to increase THAP11 expression through a circNRD1/miR-421/THAP11 ceRNA axis.

Confidence score:

0.7975

Other information
