CircDHX33 is down-regulated in prostate cancer tissues and cell lines. It functions as a tumor-suppressive circRNA by binding the RNA-binding protein IGF2BP2, reducing IGF2BP2 protein stability/expression, and thereby inhibiting glycolysis, proliferation, migration, invasion, EMT, tumor growth, and metastasis while promoting apoptosis. Low circDHX33 expression is associated with advanced TNM stage and distant metastasis, supporting its potential biomarker and therapeutic relevance.
