circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: KLF9
Associated microRNA: miR-93-5p
Biological function: Promotes inflammation, oxidative stress and apoptosis in AKI; circHIPK3 knockdown alleviates kidney injury and improves renal function.
Molecular mechanism: ceRNA mechanism: circHIPK3 sponges miR-93-5p, relieving repression of KLF9, thereby promoting AKI-associated inflammation/oxidative stress/apoptosis.
Biological pathway or process:

inflammation (promotes); oxidative phosphorylation (inhibits); apoptosis (promotes); ceRNA regulation (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Luciferase Reporter Assay; Transfection; MTT; Annexin V/PI Flow Cytometry; ELISA; Western Blot; In Vivo Animal Model; H&E Staining; TUNEL; Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

-

Description:

circHIPK3 is up-regulated in renal I/R-induced AKI and in H/R-treated HK-2 cells. It aggravates renal tubular cell injury by sponging miR-93-5p to increase KLF9, thereby promoting inflammation, oxidative stress and apoptosis; circHIPK3 knockdown alleviates AKI in vitro and in vivo.

Confidence score:

0.5637
