It suppresses ESCC cell proliferation, migration, tumor growth and metastasis, likely by binding multiple ribosomal proteins (RPS4X/RPS8/RPS24/RPL7/RPL11) and reducing ribosome biogenesis/production; higher expression is associated with better overall survival.
