circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
DN
Associated gene: LATS2 mRNA, LATS2, Ago2
Associated microRNA: miR-562
Biological function: Functions as a tumor suppressor; suppresses HCC cell proliferation, colony formation, invasion, angiogenesis, EMT features, and in vivo tumorigenesis.
Molecular mechanism: circSNX14 acts as a molecular sponge for miR-562, thereby maintaining or increasing LATS2 expression through the circSNX14/miR-562/LATS2 axis.
Biological pathway or process:

ceRNA regulation (promotes); proliferation (inhibits); invasion (inhibits); angiogenesis (inhibits); EMT (inhibits); metastasis (inhibits); Hippo/YAP (other)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; RNase R Treatment; Actinomycin D / DRB Stability Assay; Nuclear-Cytoplasmic Fractionation; Bioinformatics Analysis; Luciferase Reporter Assay; RNA Pull-Down; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); Transfection; CCK8; Colony Formation Assay; Transwell Assay; Tube Formation Assay; Western Blot; In Vivo Animal Model; IHC (Immunohistochemistry); Clinical Sample Validation; Cohort Study; Survival Analysis

Clinical significance:

Reduced circSNX14 expression was associated with poorer overall survival and with TNM stage and distal node metastasis; circSNX14 may be a prognostic marker.

Description:

circSNX14 is down-regulated in HCC tissues and cell lines, and lower expression is associated with poorer overall survival and more aggressive clinicopathological features. Functionally, circSNX14 suppresses HCC cell proliferation, invasion, angiogenesis, EMT features, and xenograft tumor growth. Mechanistically, it sponges miR-562 and promotes LATS2 expression through the circSNX14/miR-562/LATS2 axis.

Confidence score:

0.8769
