promotes tumorigenesis, proliferation, colony formation, and xenograft tumor growth in osteosarcoma cells |
| Molecular mechanism: |
circCNST acts as a cytoplasmic miRNA sponge for miR-421, thereby relieving miR-421-mediated repression of SLC25A3 |

| Clinical significance: |
High circCNST expression was associated with tumor size and served as an independent prognostic factor of poor survival in OS patients; circCNST might be a potential marker for OS patients (AUC = 0.63). |
| Description: |
circCNST (hsa_circ_0017311), derived from the CNST locus, is up-regulated in osteosarcoma tissues and cell lines and is associated with larger tumor size and poorer overall survival. Functionally, circCNST promotes OS cell proliferation/colony formation and xenograft growth by sponging miR-421 in the cytoplasm, thereby increasing SLC25A3 expression. |
