It functions as a ceRNA that sponges miR-145, thereby increasing HGF expression and activating the HGF/c-MET axis, which promotes chondrocyte apoptosis and extracellular matrix degradation; circPRKCH knockdown alleviates OA-like cartilage damage in the mouse model.
