CircFADS2 downregulation was associated with lymphoid node metastasis and poor survival; circFADS2 may serve as a promising prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for CSCC.
CircFADS2 is downregulated in CSCC tissues and cell lines and appears to function as a tumor suppressor. Mechanistically, cytoplasmic circFADS2 sponges miR-766-3p to promote HOXA9 expression, thereby inhibiting CSCC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, glycolysis, and xenograft tumor growth. Clinically, lower circFADS2 expression is associated with lymph node metastasis and poorer survival.
