circZNF609 is up-regulated in DM1 skeletal muscle and shows an increased circular-to-linear ratio. Its circular fraction correlates with muscle strength, and it contributes to diagnostic discrimination of DM1 vs controls by ROC analysis; in myogenic cells, its circular-to-linear ratio (but not circular transcript alone) is significantly increased.
