| Description: |
In osteoarthritis, circFNDC3B (hsa_circ_0001361) is down-regulated in human OA cartilage and IL-1beta-induced chondrocytes. It mainly localizes to the cytoplasm and acts as a ceRNA by sponging miR-525-5p to de-repress HO-1, thereby reducing ROS and inhibiting NF-kappaB activation, protecting ECM (Collagen II/Aggrecan) and promoting chondrocyte proliferation; its overexpression alleviates OA in an ACLT rabbit model. |
