Hsa_circ_001988 is downregulated in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines and functions as a tumor suppressor. It inhibits GC proliferation, colony formation, migration, invasion, EMT and xenograft tumor growth through an EIF4A3/U2AF65-mediated hsa_circ_001988/miR-197-3p/FBXW7 regulatory axis. Its reduced expression is associated with clinicopathological features and it may have diagnostic value for GC.
