RNA polymerase III subunit G (POLR3G), zinc finger and BTB domain containing 41 (ZBTB41), HNRNPC, HNRNPU, AGO2 |
| Associated microRNA: |
miR-548m |
| Biological function: |
promotes HCC cell migration and invasion in vitro and promotes HCC lung metastasis in vivo; no significant effect on HCC cell proliferation was observed |
| Molecular mechanism: |
circBPTF functions as a miR-548m sponge to upregulate POLR3G and ZBTB41; its biosynthesis is promoted by HNRNPC and HNRNPU; elemene suppresses HNRNPC and the circBPTF/miR-548m/POLR3G network |

| Clinical significance: |
circBPTF is highly expressed in HCC tissues and may serve as a therapeutic target for HCC metastasis and as an important target of elemene |
| Description: |
circBPTF is an up-regulated human circRNA in HCC that promotes migration, invasion, and lung metastasis. It acts as a miR-548m sponge to increase POLR3G and ZBTB41 expression, while its biogenesis is regulated by HNRNPC and HNRNPU. Elemene inhibits HCC metastasis at least partly by downregulating HNRNPC, suppressing circBPTF, and reducing the circBPTF/miR-548m/POLR3G network. |
