| Clinical significance: |
high levels of circRTN4 were found in peripheral blood mononuclear cells and kidney tissues of LN patients, serving as an effective biomarker for LN detection and a novel therapeutic target |
| Description: |
circRTN4 (hsa_circ_0054595) is up-regulated in lupus nephritis and mainly localizes to the cytoplasm. It promotes mesangial cell proliferation and extracellular matrix deposition by sponging miR-513a-5p to increase FN expression, and it can be transferred from monocytes to HRMCs via exosomes. Clinically, elevated circRTN4 in PBMCs and kidney tissues is proposed as a biomarker and therapeutic target for LN. |
