circ-0001875 is up-regulated in NSCLC and acts as an oncogenic circRNA promoting proliferation, migration/invasion, metastasis, EMT and filopodia formation. It functions as a ceRNA by sponging miR-31-5p to upregulate SP1 and activate EMT-related TGFbeta/Smad2 signaling, while SP1 feeds back to inhibit circ-0001875 biogenesis via AluSq binding; hypoxia-induced HIF1alpha-SP1 interaction relieves this suppression.
