In breast and ovarian cancer cell lines, circNFATC3 promotes proliferative and motile phenotypes and supports mitochondrial respiration/oxidative phosphorylation. siRNA knockdown reduces proliferation, migration/invasion and lowers OCR/ECAR, while circRNA mini-vector overexpression increases these phenotypes. The circRNA is mainly cytoplasmic and is predicted (database-based) to interact with Let-7 family miRNAs and multiple RBPs.
