| Expression pattern: |
UP |
| Associated gene: |
- |
| Associated microRNA: |
miR-449a |
| Biological function: |
promotes cervical cancer cell proliferation, migration and invasion; promotes EMT-related process |
| Molecular mechanism: |
circCDK6 acts as a sponge of miR-449a; silencing circCDK6 increases miR-449a and modulates EMT marker proteins (E-cadherin, N-cadherin, beta-catenin, etc.) |
| Biological pathway or process: |
proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); EMT (promotes); cell cycle (other); ceRNA regulation (promotes) |

| Validation methods: |
RT-qPCR; RNase R Treatment; Actinomycin D / DRB Stability Assay; FISH / smFISH; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); Luciferase Reporter Assay; Transfection; CCK8; Colony Formation Assay; Transwell Assay; Cell Cycle Assay; Western Blot |

| Description: |
circCDK6 is up-regulated in cervical cancer cell lines and mainly localizes in the cytoplasm. Functional assays show that circCDK6 supports proliferation, migration/invasion and EMT, and it directly sponges miR-449a; circCDK6 knockdown increases miR-449a and suppresses malignant phenotypes and EMT marker changes. |
