circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: AQP4
Associated microRNA: miR-409-3p
Biological function: promotes cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, and reduces radiosensitivity (circ_0079530 knockdown shows opposite effects); promotes tumor growth in vivo
Molecular mechanism: Acts as a ceRNA/miRNA sponge for miR-409-3p to regulate AQP4 expression, affecting NSCLC progression and radiosensitivity
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); radioresistance (promotes); ceRNA regulation (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; RNase R Treatment; Actinomycin D / DRB Stability Assay; Transfection; CCK8; Colony Formation Assay; Cell Cycle Assay; EdU Staining; Transwell Assay; RNA Pull-Down; Luciferase Reporter Assay; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); Clinical Sample Validation; In Vivo Animal Model; Western Blot

Clinical significance:

Circ_0079530 expression was higher in radioresistant samples than in radiosensitive tissues

Description:

This study reports that hsa_circ_0079530 (circ_0079530), derived from Twist1, is up-regulated in NSCLC tissues and especially in radioresistant samples. Functionally, circ_0079530 promotes NSCLC cell proliferation, migration/invasion and tumor growth, and decreases radiosensitivity. Mechanistically, it sponges miR-409-3p to upregulate AQP4, forming a circ_0079530/miR-409-3p/AQP4 axis that drives malignancy and radioresistance.

Confidence score:

0.7979
