Associated gene: U2AF2
Associated microRNA: -
Biological function: circSMARCC1 promotes STAD cell proliferation and invasion, tumor growth, and macrophage M2 polarization; circSMARCC1 knockdown suppresses malignant phenotypes and M2 macrophage polarization.
Molecular mechanism: STAD cell-derived exosomes deliver circSMARCC1 to promote macrophage M2 polarization by upregulating U2AF2 expression.
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); invasion (promotes); macrophage polarization (promotes); immune regulation (other); other pathway/process (promotes)

Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Bioinformatics Analysis; Survival Analysis; Transfection; CCK8; EdU Staining; Transwell Assay; Western Blot; ELISA; IF (Immunofluorescence); In Vivo Animal Model

Clinical significance:

High circSMARCC1 expression is associated with poor prognosis and decreased overall survival in STAD patients; circulating exosomal circSMARCC1 is increased in STAD patients.

Description:

circSMARCC1 is up-regulated in gastric cancer tissues, cell lines, and circulating exosomes, and high expression is associated with poor survival. Functionally, circSMARCC1 promotes STAD cell proliferation, invasion, tumor growth, and macrophage M2 polarization. Mechanistically, STAD cell-derived exosomes deliver circSMARCC1 to macrophages, where it increases U2AF2 expression and drives M2 polarization to promote STAD progression.

Confidence score:

0.6482
