| Associated gene: |
GADD45A, AGO2, p-JNK, Ki67 |
| Associated microRNA: |
miR-331-5p |
| Biological function: |
Inhibits gastric cancer cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and subcutaneous tumor growth; acts as a tumor suppressor in GC. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
circDYRK1A functions as a competitive endogenous RNA by sponging miR-331-5p, relieving repression of GADD45A and activating the GADD45A-JNK axis. |
| Biological pathway or process: |
proliferation (inhibits); migration (inhibits); invasion (inhibits); ceRNA regulation (promotes); MAPK (promotes) |

| Clinical significance: |
Reduced circDYRK1A expression is associated with poor prognosis in GC patients; high circDYRK1A expression is associated with significantly higher overall survival. |
| Description: |
circDYRK1A is a human DYRK1A-derived circRNA that is significantly downregulated in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines. It suppresses GC proliferation, migration, invasion, and xenograft tumor growth by sponging miR-331-5p, thereby restoring GADD45A expression and activating the GADD45A-JNK tumor-suppressive pathway. Clinically, higher circDYRK1A expression is associated with better overall survival in GC patients. |
