circFADS2 is downregulated in sepsis plasma and in LPS-treated human bronchial epithelial cells. Functionally, circFADS2 overexpression protects HBEpCs from LPS-induced apoptosis and loss of viability by sponging/downregulating miR-133a, supported by luciferase and gain/loss-of-function assays.
