Description:

circ-NT5C2 is upregulated in osteoarthritis and promotes disease progression. Mechanistically, it acts as a ceRNA that sponges miR-142-5p, relieving repression of NAMPT and thereby promoting inflammation, apoptosis, and reduced proliferation/ECM synthesis in IL-1beta-stimulated chondrocytes. Silencing circ-NT5C2 reverses these OA-like phenotypes in vitro.
