circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: PTEN, PI3K, PKB
Associated microRNA: miR-1183
Biological function: promotes proliferation, migration and glycolysis; promotes tumor growth
Molecular mechanism: circ-ACACA acts as a miRNA sponge for miR-1183 and regulates the PI3K/PKB signaling pathway
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); glycolysis (promotes); PI3K/AKT (promotes); ceRNA regulation (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; RNase R Treatment; Clinical Sample Validation; Nuclear-Cytoplasmic Fractionation; Luciferase Reporter Assay; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); RNA Pull-Down; Transfection; CCK8; Transwell Assay; Western Blot; In Vivo Animal Model; Survival Analysis; ROC Analysis; Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

the higher level of circ-ACACA led to the lower survival rate; AUC=0.7822 indicating diagnostic value

Description:

circ-ACACA is up-regulated in NSCLC tissues and cell lines and is associated with advanced stage, metastasis, and poorer overall survival. Functionally, circ-ACACA promotes proliferation, migration and glycolysis and tumor growth by sponging miR-1183, leading to activation of the PI3K/PKB (AKT) pathway (with PTEN up and p-PI3K/p-PKB down upon circ-ACACA knockdown).

Confidence score:

0.848
