Associated gene: -
Associated microRNA: hsa-miR-7977, hsa-miR-4530, hsa-miR-4692, hsa-miR-4514, hsa-miR-4645
Biological function: Potential non-invasive prognosis biomarker for HCC; negatively associated with tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes and overall survival; associated with tumour size, advanced tumour stage and metastasis.
Molecular mechanism: Potential miRNA sponge mechanism predicted by bioinformatics; may interact with multiple miRNAs to perturb tumour-related signalling pathways; immune-associated prognostic biomarker correlated with TILs.
Biological pathway or process:

immune regulation (other); metastasis (promotes); ceRNA regulation (other); other pathway/process (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
M
Validation methods:

Microarray; RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Cohort Study; Survival Analysis; Bioinformatics Analysis

Clinical significance:

hsa_circ_0064428 could be considered as an independent HCC prognostic biomarker; high expression was negatively correlated with overall survival and associated with larger tumour size, advanced tumour stage and metastasis.

Description:

Plasma hsa_circ_0064428 was identified by circRNA microarray and validated by qRT-PCR as differentially expressed between HCC patients with high and low tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes. Higher hsa_circ_0064428 expression was associated with poorer overall survival, lower TIL levels, larger tumour size, advanced stage and metastasis, supporting its role as a non-invasive prognostic biomarker for HCC. Bioinformatics analysis suggested that hsa_circ_0064428 may interact with several miRNAs, but the molecular mechanism was not experimentally validated.
