circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: CBX1, Ago2, CyclinD1, Bax, MMP9, KI67
Associated microRNA: miR-188-3p
Biological function: promotes LUAD cell proliferation, migration, invasion, cell-cycle progression, oxidative stress, and tumor growth, and inhibits apoptosis
Molecular mechanism: circ-NUP98 acts as a ceRNA/miRNA sponge for miR-188-3p to increase CBX1 expression
Biological pathway or process:

proliferation (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); cell cycle (promotes); ceRNA regulation (other); other pathway/process (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Nuclear-Cytoplasmic Fractionation; RNase R Treatment; Transfection; CCK8; EdU Staining; Annexin V/PI Flow Cytometry; Cell Cycle Assay; Transwell Assay; Wound Healing Assay; ELISA; Western Blot; Bioinformatics Analysis; Luciferase Reporter Assay; RIP (RNA Immunoprecipitation); In Vivo Animal Model; IHC (Immunohistochemistry)

Clinical significance:

Circ-NUP98 might provide a potential new marker for early diagnosis of LUAD and potentially effective targets for LUAD treatment.

Description:

circ-NUP98 is up-regulated in LUAD tissues and cell lines and functions as an oncogenic circRNA. Silencing circ-NUP98 suppresses proliferation, migration, invasion, cell-cycle progression, oxidative stress, and xenograft tumor growth while promoting apoptosis. Mechanistically, circ-NUP98 sponges miR-188-3p to relieve repression of CBX1, forming a circ-NUP98/miR-188-3p/CBX1 regulatory axis.

Confidence score:

0.8175
