High circAGFG1 expression was associated with tumor-node-metastasis stage, tumor size, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, and worse overall survival in BC patients.
circAGFG1 is up-regulated in breast cancer tissues and cell lines and its high expression is associated with aggressive clinicopathological features and poor overall survival. Functionally, circAGFG1 promotes proliferation, migration, invasion, glycolysis, and in vivo tumor growth while suppressing apoptosis. Mechanistically, it acts as a sponge for miR-653-5p to regulate YWHAE and downstream proteins including MMP9, GLUT1, and Bax.
