In insulin-treated human granulosa-like tumor cells (PCOS cellular model), circMTO1 is upregulated and mainly cytoplasmic. circMTO1 promotes proliferation and inhibits apoptosis by acting as a ceRNA that sponges miR-320b to upregulate MCL1, and its expression is induced by the transcription factor SNAI2 via the MTO1 promoter.
