circRNA0007766 is a human ERBB2-derived circRNA that is significantly upregulated in AEG tissues and cell lines. It promotes AEG proliferation, migration, invasion, tumorigenesis, cell cycle progression and EMT-related changes while reducing apoptosis, mainly through a ceRNA mechanism in which it sponges miR-34c-5p to upregulate cyclin D1. Clinically, high circRNA0007766 expression is associated with lymph node metastasis, poor prognosis and shorter overall survival, suggesting diagnostic and prognostic biomarker potential.
