circPOKE is significantly downregulated in breast cancer tissues, particularly metastatic tumors, is inversely correlated with distant metastasis and negatively associated with Snail, USP10, ALDH1A1 and N-cadherin staining; it may be a potential therapeutic target or inhibitor for BC metastasis.
circPOKE is a human ZBTB7A-derived circular RNA that is downregulated in breast cancer and more strongly reduced in metastatic disease. It suppresses breast cancer migration, invasion, EMT, stemness and metastasis by competitively binding USP10 and promoting ubiquitin-mediated degradation of Snail. circPOKE can also be secreted in exosomes, and exosome-carried circPOKE attenuates lung metastasis, supporting its potential as a therapeutic inhibitor for metastatic breast cancer.
