Mechanistically, circ_0001955 mainly localizes to the cytoplasm and acts as a miR-29a-3p sponge to increase NKIRAS2 expression, thereby activating the NF-kappaB pathway; STAT4 was also reported to transcriptionally induce circ_0001955 upregulation.
