FSTL1, TLK1 |
| Associated microRNA: |
miR-136-5p |
| Biological function: |
circ_TLK1 aggravates OGD/R-induced PC12 cell injury by inhibiting cell viability/proliferation and promoting apoptosis/cell death and LDH release; circ_TLK1 knockdown alleviates OGD/R-induced injury. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
circ_TLK1 acts as a miR-136-5p sponge and positively regulates FSTL1 expression, thereby aggravating OGD/R-induced PC12 cell injury. |
| Biological pathway or process: |
ceRNA regulation (promotes); apoptosis (promotes); proliferation (inhibits); other pathway/process (promotes) |

| Clinical significance: |
circ_TLK1 might represent a promising biomarker for decreasing the injury caused by ischemic insults. |
| Description: |
This study shows that circ_TLK1 is upregulated in OGD/R-injured PC12 cells. Functionally, circ_TLK1 knockdown protects PC12 cells from OGD/R-induced injury by improving proliferation/survival and reducing cell death, apoptosis-associated protein changes, and LDH release. Mechanistically, circ_TLK1 sponges miR-136-5p to positively regulate FSTL1 expression, forming a circ_TLK1/miR-136-5p/FSTL1 axis relevant to ischemic stroke-related cellular injury. |
