circRNA-disease information
Expression pattern:
UP
Associated gene: LDHA, CyclinD1, Bax
Associated microRNA: miR-149-5p
Biological function: Promotes GC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis, tumor growth and radioresistance, and suppresses apoptosis and radiosensitivity.
Molecular mechanism: circ-DONSON acts as a miRNA sponge for miR-149-5p and indirectly upregulates LDHA, forming a circ-DONSON/miR-149-5p/LDHA axis that promotes GC progression and radioresistance.
Biological pathway or process:

ceRNA regulation (other); proliferation (promotes); migration (promotes); invasion (promotes); metastasis (promotes); angiogenesis (promotes); apoptosis (inhibits); radioresistance (promotes)

Detected method:
Q
Validation methods:

RT-qPCR; Clinical Sample Validation; Transfection; CCK8; Colony Formation Assay; Annexin V/PI Flow Cytometry; Transwell Assay; Tube Formation Assay; Western Blot; Luciferase Reporter Assay; Bioinformatics Analysis; In Vivo Animal Model; IHC (Immunohistochemistry)

Clinical significance:

May serve as a promising biomarker and treatment target for GC.

Description:

circ-DONSON is up-regulated in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines. It promotes malignant GC progression by enhancing proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis, tumor growth and radioresistance while inhibiting apoptosis. Mechanistically, circ-DONSON sponges miR-149-5p to upregulate LDHA through the circ-DONSON/miR-149-5p/LDHA axis.

Confidence score:

0.7132
