Low circSETD3 expression is associated with larger tumor size, advanced clinical stages, positive lymph metastasis and worse prognosis; high circSETD3 expression is associated with optimistic survival time and may serve as a potential diagnostic and therapeutic molecular marker for BLCA.
circSETD3 is down-regulated in bladder cancer tissues and cell lines, and higher circSETD3 expression is associated with better patient survival. Functionally, circSETD3 suppresses BLCA cell growth, migration, invasion, EMT, stemness maintenance, and xenograft tumor growth. Mechanistically, it acts as a cytoplasmic ceRNA sponge for miR-641 to increase PTEN expression.

Circular RNA circSETD3 hampers cell growth, migration, and stem cell properties in bladder cancer through sponging miR-641 to upregulate PTEN.
