circ-0038718 is an IL4R-derived human circRNA upregulated in HCC tissues and cell lines. It acts as an oncogenic circRNA that promotes HCC proliferation, migration, invasion and xenograft tumor growth, at least partly by sponging miR-139-3p and increasing Wnt5a, ELK1 and ANXA2R expression. High circ-0038718 expression is associated with malignant clinicopathologic features and poor OS/DFS, suggesting prognostic and therapeutic relevance.
