Detected in EBV positive clinical stomach cancer specimens (2/2 biopsies tested).
circRPMS1_E4_E3a is an EBV RPMS1-locus circRNA expressed across latency types and detectable in EBV-positive stomach cancer biopsies. It is predominantly nuclear with possible low cytoplasmic localization; the study suggests it could affect miRNA processing due to its splice-acceptor context, but its function in tumors remains unproven.
