hsa_circ_002144 could serve as a novel biomarker for breast cancer treatment and prognosis.
In this study, hsa_circ_002144 is identified as an upregulated breast cancer circRNA derived from RPPH1. It promotes malignant phenotypes including proliferation, migration, invasion, EMT, tumor growth and metastasis while inhibiting apoptosis. Mechanistically, hsa_circ_002144 sponges miR-326 to elevate PKM expression and promote glycolysis, and exosomal hsa_circ_002144 enters macrophages to induce M2 polarization and immune escape.
