circTCF25 was associated with lymph node metastasis, T stage, TNM stage and shorter overall survival; increased expression may serve as a biomarker to predict survival outcome in patients with gastric cancer.
In this study, circTCF25/hsa_circ_0041103 was up-regulated in human gastric cancer tissues and cell lines and high expression predicted shorter overall survival. Functional knockdown experiments indicated that circTCF25 promotes gastric cancer cell proliferation, migration, invasion and CSC marker expression. Mechanistically, the study supports a circTCF25-miR-149 regulatory network with predicted downstream mRNAs and cancer-related pathways such as PI3K-AKT and MAPK.
