Description:

circFOXO3 is up-regulated in cigarette smoke-exposed mouse lungs and CSE-treated MLE12 cells and is mainly cytoplasmic. It promotes lung inflammation by sponging miR-214-3p to increase IKK-beta expression, thereby activating NF-kappaB signaling and increasing inflammatory cytokines (e.g., CXCL1, IL-6); circFOXO3 knockdown ameliorates CS-induced lung injury/inflammation.
