ciRS-7 (hsa_circ_0001946), derived from CDR1, is up-regulated in RCC and predominantly cytoplasmic. It promotes RCC proliferation, migration/invasion and in vivo tumor growth/metastasis by sponging miR-139-3p, relieving repression of TAGLN and activating PI3K/AKT signaling; high expression is associated with poor survival.
