In gastric cancer, hsa_circ_0000520 is down-regulated in tumors and in the Herceptin-resistant NCI-N87R cells. Forced overexpression sensitizes cells to Herceptin by suppressing proliferation and increasing apoptosis, at least partly via inhibition of PI3K/AKT signaling (reduced p-PI3K and p-Akt), which can be counteracted by IGF-1 pathway activation. |
