HBV_circ_1 abundance was higher in HCCT than in paracancerous tissues; HBV_circ_1-positive patients had lower survival rate
HBV-encoded HBV_circ_1 is up-regulated in HBV-related HCC tissues and is associated with worse patient survival. Functional assays indicate HBV_circ_1 promotes proliferation, cell-cycle progression, migration/invasion and tumor growth while inhibiting apoptosis, mainly by directly binding to CDK1 and increasing CDK1 expression.
