High circHIPK2 expression predicts shorter overall survival and is associated with lymph node metastasis and advanced TNM stage; lower circHIPK2 expression is an independent factor predicting prolonged OS.
circHIPK2 is up-regulated in NSCLC, especially DDP-resistant NSCLC, and high expression is associated with poor overall survival, lymph node metastasis, and advanced TNM stage. Functionally, circHIPK2 promotes DDP chemoresistance, malignant behaviors, angiogenesis, and xenograft growth. Mechanistically, cytoplasmic circHIPK2 sponges miR-1249-3p to upregulate VEGFA.
