promotes glioma cell migration and invasion; promotes angiogenesis in endothelial cells |

| Clinical significance: |
Higher circGLIS3 expression level was correlated with malignant phenotype in glioma; circGLIS3 and p-Ezrin(T567) are up-expressed in HGG and positively correlated in tissues |
| Description: |
circGLIS3 (hsa_circ_0002874, from GLIS3 exon 2) is up-regulated in high-grade glioma and promotes glioma migration/invasion in vitro and invasive behavior in intracranial xenografts. Mechanistically, it localizes to the cytoplasm and directly binds phosphorylated Ezrin(T567), increasing p-Ezrin(T567) levels to enhance motility. circGLIS3 can also be packaged into glioma-derived exosomes, transferred to endothelial cells, and promote angiogenesis with increased Ezrin T567 phosphorylation. |
