Low expression levels of circMTO1 were closely associated with poor prognosis, advanced TNM staging, lymphatic invasion, tumor size, and poor overall survival; circMTO1 may be a therapeutic target for gastric cancer.

Description:

circMTO1 is down-regulated in gastric cancer tissues and cell lines, and low circMTO1 expression is associated with poor overall survival and aggressive clinicopathological features. Functionally, circMTO1 suppresses gastric cancer proliferation, migration, invasion, metastasis and tumor growth while promoting apoptosis. Mechanistically, circMTO1 sponges miR-199a-3p to elevate PAWR expression, thereby inhibiting gastric cancer progression through the circMTO1/miR-199a-3p/PAWR axis.
