Functionally, circDLC1 suppresses hepatoma cell proliferation, cell-cycle progression, migration/invasion and in vivo tumor growth/metastasis by binding HuR and weakening HuR-MMP1 mRNA interaction, which reduces MMP1 mRNA stability and expression.
