circABCC4e is a human ABCC4-derived circRNA upregulated in RCC tissues, cell lines, plasma and urine, and its levels correlate with advanced tumor stage and decrease after resection. Functionally, circABCC4e promotes RCC cell proliferation, migration, invasion and xenograft growth. Mechanistically, it acts as a ceRNA/miRNA sponge that antagonizes tumor-suppressive miR-101-5p, miR-133-5p and miR-138-5p.
