Description:

circ_FAM53B is down-regulated in papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues and cells and is mainly localized in the cytoplasm. It acts as a tumor suppressor by sponging miR-183-5p, thereby increasing CCDC6 expression, which inhibits proliferation, migration, invasion, tube formation and tumor growth while promoting apoptosis. Clinically, circ_FAM53B expression was associated with recurrence and lymph node metastasis and may serve as a potential diagnostic biomarker or therapeutic target in PTC.
