Description:

In APL cells, circ-HIPK2 is down-regulated in patient samples and is required to support ATRA-induced differentiation. Mechanistically, it localizes mainly in the cytoplasm and functions as a miRNA sponge, particularly for miR-124-3p, with a proposed downstream impact on CEBPA protein level. circ-HIPK2 may serve as an APL biomarker because its expression increases at complete remission.
