| Description: |
ciRS-7/CDR1as is down-regulated in islets from Type 2 diabetes mouse models (db/db and ob/ob). Its silencing reduces prolactin-stimulated beta-cell proliferation and tends to reduce glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, consistent with a role in beta-cell dysfunction; it is proposed to act as a miR-7 sponge. |
