| Associated gene: |
FBXO17 |
| Associated microRNA: |
miR-217 |
| Biological function: |
Circ_0008717 promotes RCC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, glycolysis and tumor growth, and suppresses apoptosis. |
| Molecular mechanism: |
Circ_0008717 acts as a sponge for miR-217 and upregulates FBXO17, thereby promoting RCC progression. |

| Clinical significance: |
Increased circ_0008717 expression was correlated with advanced TNM stages, positive lymphoid node metastasis, and lower 5-year survival in RCC patients. |
| Description: |
Circ_0008717 is upregulated in RCC tissues and cell lines and functions as an oncogenic circRNA. It promotes proliferation, migration, invasion, glycolysis and in vivo tumor growth while inhibiting apoptosis, at least partly through the miR-217/FBXO17 regulatory axis. Clinically, higher circ_0008717 expression is associated with advanced TNM stage, lymph node metastasis and poorer survival. |
